Reading the map
The heat index compares active areas within the same city. A score of 90 means an area is hotter than 90% of active areas in that market. It combines new-home permitting, residential demolitions where available, and changes in activity, giving more weight to recent permits. It measures permitting activity, not completed homes or a forecast of future development. This preview reads Cedar’s published permit exports. The source date below the map shows the coverage currently available for each city. Enable Permits to see individual records, or search a permitted address to inspect its details. Dallas’s mapped feed ends on November 12, 2024 and does not include demolition data. The heat timeline starts after three years of history and ends at the last complete month available for each city.
